A Worn World
Clothing carries within it seeds of self-image, gender identity, coming of age, family, as well as cultural and social norms in the diversity of its wearers.
Since 2020, «A Worn World» has been an ongoing project. It has travelled to Kuopio, Montreal, Los Angeles and Ryadh. It explores the desires, pleasures and fears that are contained, triggered and expressed through clothing.
Directly on our skin, our largest organ of perception, lies a layer of self-invention. Clothing is a direct expression: it conveys our stories, our memories, reminds us of our cultural origins and places, reflects sociological and economic prejudices, reinforces our feelings of belonging and resistance, and promises all that we can become.
