From public transportation to ticket sales at the museum to the network of the independent scene: infrastructures determine our everyday lives and shape not only how we live, but also how we produce and perceive art. Since they seem to function automatically, infrastructures often go unnoticed, even though a lot of work goes into maintaining them. When they no longer function due to wear and tear or crisis, they come into focus. What does this reveal about the supposed self-evident aspects of a society? And what infrastructures do (art) institutions need for tomorrow's world?
