A Worn World is an ongoing art project by deufert&plischke. It addresses the themes of modesty, desire, pleasure and fear expressed through clothing. In close contact with the skin, the sensitive organ they "touch", they are the direct expression of a personal affirmation: they convey our stories, our memories, evoke our cultures and specific places, reflect sociological and economic biases, exalt our feelings of belonging and our resistance.
A Worn World ist ein fortlaufendes Kunstprojekt von deufert&plischke. Es greift Themen auf wie Anspruch, Begehren, Lust und Angst, die durch Kleidung adressiert werden. In engem Kontakt mit der Haut, dem sensiblen Organ, das sie "berühren", sind Kleider der direkte Ausdruck einer persönlichen Bejahung: Sie drücken unsere Geschichten, unsere Erinnerungen aus, rufen unsere Kulturen und spezifischen Orte ins Gedächtnis, spiegeln soziologische und wirtschaftliche Vorurteile wider, verstärken unsere Gefühle der Zugehörigkeit und tragen unseren Widerstand.

A Worn World focuses on the personal, individual, and emotional movements that arise in the clothes we choose to wear and make them vehicles for social interaction. For a set timeframe of 2 weeks up to several months deufert&plischke work with local communities to inhabit a space in the city that will be transformed into a creative space where you can sew, draw, design, tell stories, reject them and sew them back together: artists, communities, passers bye ... are invited in the space, to hang out, to participate in workshops supervised by the artists and/or take advantage of the labs.
A Worn World konzentriert sich auf die persönlichen, individuellen und emotionalen Bewegungen, die mit dem Tragen von Kleidung entstehen und zu einem Vehikel für soziale Interaktion werden können. Für einen festgelegten Zeitraum von 2 Wochen bis zu mehreren Monaten arbeiten deufert&plischke mit lokalen Gemeinschaften zusammen, um einen Ort in der Stadt zu bewohnen, der in einen kreativen Raum verwandelt wird, in dem man nähen, zeichnen, entwerfen, Geschichten erzählen, verwerfen und wieder zusammennähen kann: Kreative Menschen, Gruppen, Passant:innen ... sind eingeladen, sich im Raum aufzuhalten und an von den Künstler:innen geleiteten Workshops teilzunehmen und/oder die Labore zu besuchen.

Der Raum ermöglicht eine komplexe soziale Choreografie: Geschichten werden erzählt, Wissen wird ausgetauscht, Pläne werden gemacht, Projekte entstehen ... jede:r ist eingeladen, ein eigenes Notizbuch mit persönlichen Erinnerungen, Zeichnungen, Zeitungsausschnitten ... mit all dem, was während des Besuchs auftaucht, zu hinterlassen. Die Notizbücher verbleiben als künstlerische Dokumente im Raum und Teilnehmer:innen werden eingeladen, an ihnen weiterzuarbeiten. Zusätzlich gibt es Foto-Sessions, Diskussionen, Näh-Projekte und eine Atelier-Party am Ende, um alles, was hergestellt wurde, zu feiern und gemeinsam auszustellen!
The space enables a complex social choreography: stories are told, knowledge is exchanged, plans are made, projects emerge ... everybody is invited to leave a personal notebook with personale memories, drawings, newspaper clippings ... everything that emerges during the visit. The notebooks remains in the space and people are invited back to continue working on them. Additionally there are photographic sessions one can join, discussions, dressmaking projects, and an atelier party at the end to celebrate and exhibit all that has been made!
